What Are The Costs of Buying A Property In Greece?

Mandatory Expenses

Real Estate Transfer Tax (RTT): 3% on the higher of the value (price or objective), plus 3% in favor of the Local Authority. There are exemptions for primary residences.

Notary Fees: Notary fee (0.8%-1.2% of the value) + tax 24%, plus fees, copies, etc.

Mortgage Registry/Cadastre Fees: Approximately 0.475%-0.575% of the value of the property, plus tax 24%

Lawyer Fee: 0.5%-1% of the value for title control.

Technical Expenses (Engineer): €500-€1,500, depending on the complexity of the property.

Translation costs for foreigners: starts from 200€ and up.

Real estate agent fee. The brokerage fee for purchases and sales is 2% plus tax  on the buyer's side and 2% plus tax on the landlord side and concerns the commercial value of the property.
